Are you a romantic at heart? The moment 2 people meet and their life changes forever. Do you love films like The Notebook, When Harry Met Sally, or My Big Fat Greek Wedding? If so, you’re in luck! Here are all the rom-coms playing theaters or coming to theaters soon.
Rom-coms in theaters
Ticket to Paradise
Big blockbuster rom-coms are back with Ticket to Paradise. Our beloved ’90s icons Julia Roberts and George Clooney star as a divorced couple who must work together to stop the marriage of their daughter (Kaitlyn Dever) before she makes a big mistake.
In a review by CNN, Brian Lowry argues that Roberts’ and Clooney’s chemistry is at its best during sweeter moments. “Ticket to Paradise does tend to shine when Clooney and Roberts soften their rough edges or let their hair down, as they do during a game of drunken mystery-alcohol (not beer) pong.”
It’s great to see that classy films still exist. #TickettoParadise is one such film. Films like this are able to warm the heart and leave audiences feeling good and hopeful.

What I wanted from #TicketToParadise: Julia and George making me laugh, some sweet moments sprinkled throughout and falling in love with the setting
What I got: Exactly that! Plus cute bloopers!

Bros
Bros is the first gay rom com by a major studio, written by Nicholas Stoller and Billy Eichner. Podcast host Bobby (Billy Eichner) meets Aaron (Luke Macfarlane), and the 2 seem only interested in playing the dating field. However, as the 2 get to know each other, their vulnerable sides start coming out.
Sophie Butcher of Empire praises the romantic comedy.
“The mere existence of Bros shouldn’t be remarkable, but it is. If you can believe it, this is the very first romcom starring openly gay people to be released theatrically by a mainstream studio. That it’s taken so long is infuriating — but is Bros a movie worthy of that milestone? The answer is yes, absolutely, and then some.”
I love #BrosMovie so much. Studios should make more films like this. Luke Macfarlane is insanely charming. pic.twitter.com/VOrgEKxdrf

I stand with @billyeichner. BROS is the funniest movie I’ve seen in a theater since Animal House. If you didn’t like it or you won’t see it then you are a racist homophobic piece of garbage and you should have your bank accounts frozen.

Rom-coms coming soon to theaters
Bones and All
This is more a dark comedy with a twist of romance than a straight-forward rom-com. A young woman (Taylor Russell) is living on the margins of society, on the run. When she meets a charming young man (Timothée Chalamet), the 2 embark on the love story of a lifetime that turns deadly.

Spoiler Alert
In this true story, we follow the last 11 months of the life of photographer Kit Cowan (Ben Aldridge). We see his life through the perspective of his partner of 14 years Michael Ausiello (Jim Parsons). We watch as the 2 meet, follow their love story, and the ending of Kit’s life. It’s based on the book written by Michael Ausiello.
If I had to pick a dark horse Oscar contender based strictly on its story, I’d go with SPOILER ALERT: THE HERO DIES. Keeping an eye on that one…

Magic Mike’s Last Dance
The final chapter of Magic Mike hit theaters Valentines Day 2023. While we don’t know of the full plot, Channing Tatum gave us a sneak peak of the film on Instagram.
In the photo Salma Hayek is getting a little too close to the star, with the caption “All good things begin in Miami.”
We’ll update this guide once we have more info on rom-coms coming soon! Will you see any of these movies in theaters?
