The 2023 Houston rodeo season is here. The annual downtown Houston rodeo parade is one of the perennial popular kickoff events and this year’s procession is scheduled for Feb. 25 at 10 a.m.

While some people will prefer to watch the parade on television, others will seek to catch a live, in-person glimpse of the action. The official Houston rodeo parade route map will help people find a premier spot along the procession to take in the sights and sounds heading into peak rodeo season.

The Houston rodeo parade kicks off on Bagby and Walker Streets, and continues from Travis to Bell Street and then from Bell Street to Louisiana Street, according to the official website. The route then turns on Lamar Street before ending at Lamar and Bagby.

Organizers said people should expect streets to be closed on Saturday morning as part of the parade and Rodeo Run starting at 8:30 a.m. with streets reopening around 2 p.m., according to the Houston rodeo website.
