NEW HAVEN — The city Office of Emergency Operations, working in partnership with the Health Department and the Fire Department, will distribute 10,000 free COVID-19 rapid test kits Saturday to New Haven residents and businesses.
The distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at a drive-thru distribution site at the New Haven Regional Fire Training Academy, 230 Ella Grasso Blvd.
Each vehicle will receive five boxes containing two tests each. Residents must present a proof of residency in order to receive the test kits, which have an expiration date of Jan. 23, 2023.
“As residents begin to return to work and school in the new year, it is important that everyone remains vigilant about stopping the spread of COVID -19 by testing when experiencing symptoms,” officials said in a press release. “Residents are encouraged take advantage of these free COVID-19 tests and get fully vaccinated for both COVID and the flu.”
