Anne Arundel County leaders urge everyone to get flu shots, COVID-19 booster shots

Anne Arundel County health officials are urging residents to get a flu shot and the latest COVID-19 booster shot.|| COVID-19 updates | Maryland’s latest numbers | Get tested | Vaccine Info ||In an effort to lead by example, Anne Arundel County Health Officer Dr. Nilesh Kalyanaraman rolled up his sleeve Thursday at the Parole Health Center in Annapolis and took both shots.”It’s absolutely safe to get both shots at the same time,” Kalyanaraman said. “We want to make it easy for folks. That’s why we’re doing it on the same day. We haven’t had that yet. So, just like we’re doing with the flu shot every year, it’s updating for what’s circulating. This new booster shot for COVID is doing the same thing. And, I certainly don’t want to get a serious case of it, and I don’t want to infect other people.
